This small spot — a relative of The Smile on Bond St. — fronts a custom bike and timepiece accessories shop and completes the high end vibe with smoked mirrors, gold plated lighting fixtures, and soothing ambient music. This venue does not see nearly the kind of customer volume that some of the nearby Tribeca coffee shops do, yet it is clearly the best coffee available in that neighborhood, and you might overhear brew geeks passing the time in line by talking about nozzle settings. Cold press juices are offered in addition to the coffee menu, as is Brazilian Coconut water. Brazilian coconuts have less flesh than coconuts from other areas, as the barista can inform you. A wide selection of complimentary newspapers are available if you would like to take a seat inside, or at the one table al fresco.
These are all of the chain restaurants. Personally, I've only been to the SMILE NEWSSTAND because it's the quickest and the coffee is absolutely amazing. All the pictures above are from the Newsstand. I just love the retrospective feel in the studio and the vintage newspapers that line the entire cafe.
